As a teenager I was warmly welcomed to the Hook and Hackle Club by Gordon Schey. We found out that we only lived two blocks apart and I was able to get a ride with him to club meetings many times. I was so grateful that this older person would be so kind and accommodating this young person. He taught me about fishing and tying flies and along the way about life. Growing up, getting married and moving away inevitably caused us to loose regular contact but we did connect from time to time in our older years. I am now 73 and am forever grateful for having had a friend in Gordon Schey.
