Obituary of Lorraine Emily Jasper

Please share a memory of Lorraine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our mother Lorraine Jasper on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Calgary, AB at the age of 89 years.

Lorraine was a wonderful wife and a devoted mother and grandmother. Mom loved life and enjoyed entertaining with family and friends. She mostly enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Lorraine had a successful career with the Bank of Montreal where she retired after twenty-five years service. She was an active lifetime member of Foothills Lutheran Church. You could always find her feeding people by helping with the fellowship committee, working on some LWML project, or singing in the choir. Mom loved to sing. The Bethany Chaplain Katie, commented if she was ever not sure of the words to a hymn to ask Lorraine, she knew them all.

 Lorraine is survived by her three children: Douglas (Leslie), Jack “Randy” (Dawna) and Lesa (Ben). Her three grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Meagan, Ethan, and Jakob. As well as her nieces; Cathy Pickup, Diane Nestor, and nephew Ric Nestor, and their families.

Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband of over forty-five years Jack Jasper, as well as her brother Gerald Nestor.

God saw you getting tired,

And a cure was not to be;

So, he put his arms around you,

And whispered, “Come to me”.

With tearful eyes we watched you,

And saw you pass away;

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.
