Thank you, Deborah, for sending word of the passing of Marion. This truly lovely person loved to drive her beloved Mustang to work at Glenn's and then A &A Music at the Chinook Shopping Center. Her leadership, management skills and kindness to all - even the hooligans she mothered and guided through the teen and young adult times while at these two shops, were invaluable in teaching each one of us to strive to absorb those same great qualities we all admired in her. She did raise her voice once, just a little, to express displeasure when we played Born to Run, as she felt it was a bit inappropriate for some of our browsing customers. I will always treasure the gift of her presence in my life and will continue to practice the skills she taught me. Sheila (Cuch) Kidd

I was so sorry to not have heard of Marion's passing, until now. My husband, Ed, and Gil were friends from when Ed came to Calgary in 1954 and Gil was a member of our wedding party in 1963. Marion was a true lady and good friend, she never seemed to say a bad word about anyone. I remember chastising her cats for shredding the upholstery on her lovely settee and Marion told me that she would never de-claw here beloved cats and would just have to put up with the torn upholstery!

As neighbours we became friends with Marion and Gilbert over the years. After Gilbert’s passing we along with other friends would regularly visit Marion in her lovely home. A fond memory is when a few of us gathered to celebrate her 90th birthday. It was a fun afternoon. She was a strong, kind and gentle soul who was always ready to see the good side of any topic we discussed. It was a real pleasure to visit with her over the years. We dearly miss her.
