Obituary of Nadine Postlewaite

Ila “Nadine” Postlewaite passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87 years on March 24, 2022, with her husband of 66 years Don, by her side.
Born in Standard, AB, Nadine grew up a true farm girl, with a love for animals and a strong interest in many sports. After graduating from Standard High School, she moved to Calgary to work at the Royal Bank. It was in Calgary where she met her husband to be Don, and they had their family first son Kerry, who predeceased her in 1999, second son Scott (Linda) children Justin and Shelby, and their only daughter Patti.
Nadine was the ultimate Mom looking after all the demands of taking the kids to their activities and sports interests while keeping a busy schedule of her own as an avid baseball pitcher, a talented bowler, and a competitive bridge player and teacher. Nadine and Don enjoyed many sports together, as well as with a close-knit group of friends from hockey, tennis, golf, and cross-country skiing. In retirement, they also had many good times on the beach in Hawaii and with close friends golfing and enjoying the Arizona sun. Nadine was always the one to invite the family and friends over for spectacular meals and taught the kids how to carry on those traditions. For the past three years, Nadine has been the ultimate caregiver to Don, and we will always treasure her for all the wonderful ways she looked after her family, always before herself.
Nadine was predeceased by her mother, Pearl and her father, Walter as well as her older sisters Dierdre Story (Kermit) and Maxine Walker (Jack). Nadine will be greatly missed by everyone lucky enough to know her and love her. At her request, Nadine’s celebration of life will be held privately at a later date.
