A couple of pics from Aunt Shirley's last visit to Sault Ste. Marie in March of 2016. We had such fun!! My Mom Margaret, Shirley's older sister was always so pleased to spend time with her sister :-) . I will definitely miss visiting Aunt Shirley on my next trip to Calgary. RIP Aunt Shirley.

Dearest Annemarie and family,
We won’t forget your mom with her elegant home and great framing business during our high school years. I am sure she is smiling proudly at you now. Many hugs and prayers to you all, and may peace and fond memories fill your hearts.

My fondest memories of Aunt Shirley are from the summer that my sister Catherine (12) and I (14) stayed with the Manning family when Annemarie was born. I was there to help keep my younger cousins Robert and Donna busy during summer break. I remember Aunt Shirley being kind and paitient. She had a great sense of humour and Uncle Austin enjoyed getting her laughing. One time he dressed up as her - shower cap, housecoat and a big tummy and had us all in stitches. Aunt Shirley was always calm through any disaster, like a big spill or the mischeif us kids might get into. She was a great cook and encouraged me to try new things like making a pie or Yorkshire pudding. Thank you Aunt Shirley! You are beautiful inside and out!

I miss your lovely mum too. She and dad had the mischievousness! Your mom had that great wink and dad his little smirk. I believe they are all together again.

Thank you, Karen. I have some fun memories of our parents as well although I didn't get to see your folks too often. One is when mom, dad, and I visited your parent's cottage (I was about 15 or 16) and we were all playing SuperQuiz. I believe your dad really enjoyed that game. Anyhow, mom was asked what the seed from an oak tree was. She couldn't think of the answer. Dad said, "You know this one, Squirrelly!" She didn't pick up on the hint. We all had a great laugh. Miss your parents too.

My condolences to the family. I got to know Shirley’s daughter Donna who came to visit her dear Mom several times a week while I was there visiting a dear friend @ Holy Cross. I remember Shirley’s beautiful smile. Prayers & hugs to all the family . Take care. Caroline
