My sincere condolences to Anthea and family. I was devastated to hear the news this morning. He was an exceptional boss and really became a dear friend to me- (Je voudrais dire a tous ses enfants que je n’ai jamais eu la chance de rencontrer qu’il était au travail un homme brillant et stratégique) he was brilliant, considerate, strategic, and humble. I will always remember how he was two steps ahead of everybody in all our negotiations and was a fabulous mind to brainstorm with. We also shared a keen passion for foraging and nature; somehow, I had dreamed that we would be together again to share another Galette des Rois and a little champagne. Tu vas me manquer mon ami! It was a pleasure to have met Eric and Anthea during a charity bakesale. Thank you both for baking and introducing us to the world of Cantuccini and Ricciarelli (words I still have to Google to this day!) I rem how Anthea affectionately introduced Eric as “Mr ShakeShakeBakeBake”. Precious and dear memories.
It was a blessing to have crossed paths with you. May you rest well in God’s love and peace, Eric.
Deepest condolences to you for your loss, Anthea. We know that Eric was someone most dear and important to you. May Hope and Love carry you through. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
SendingLove to you,
Grace

Sincere Condolences to Anthea ,to Eric's mother and family.
It has been a real pleasure to get to know Eric a little bit more each time we were out skiing in the beautiful Rockies.
I would have like to hear more of his great adventures. He always had a smile to offer or a story or a sandwich. I loved his company and will miss him. Eric had a quality of presence and I will keep plenty of happy memories of our time together.
Wish we had more time...……….
Sincerely, IL vas nous manquer………..

We will all miss Eric's company on our xc ski trips. He was a happy, cheerful and fun addition to our ski club.
His top ski lunch spot was at Baker Creek in the red chairs sitting around the campfire with the mountains all around.

Thank you, Eric, for feeding me your lovely little treats. Although I never got to spend time with you, I learnt so much from you, through Anthea's small sharings of your observations and take on life. I was struck by your wicked sense of humour, coupled with your compassion, kindness and love for people and nature. I shall learn how to let go a bit and also ShakeShakeBakeBake, because your doing so produced so many perfect bakes of love.

Eric walked with us once. It was a privilige to have Eric to join us. He will be our role model to love and respect nature.
Masses had been offered for his soul. May perpetual light shine on him and may his soul rest in peace.

Eric , quiet, unassuming, who filled his n Anthea's days with joyful discovery n adventure; who dragged me out of kneedeep mud on my only n fabulous hunting trip which he organised; who left us with the unforgettable witty phrase "HDB for the birds"!
Eric - let your spirit soar!

Dear Eric. Why do you have to leave so soon? A loving husband, father and humble friend. Always smiling, kind and compassionate. You will be sorely missed. Together with Anthea, thank you for spending your precious time with Sally and I during our visits to Calgary. Foraging for hedgehog mushrooms in the mossy forest, trekking in the park and snowy woods, fly fishing and canoeing in the Bow River, dog sledging through snowy paths and frozen lakes. Visits to the Glazier, Dinasour Museum and picnic in the Badlands. Long road trips all over Alberta. I will treasure and cherish these precious memories forever. Rest in Peace, Eric.

Eric was an amazing man.
He was kind, smart, articulate, successful and wise. Although I knew him for a relatively short period of time socially, I came to have a lot of respect for him and his insights. He was well travelled, saw the world and had lots of experience in far flung places globally. I admired his disciple, his approach to life and his commitment to physical fitness and clear thinking. When we would go on outdoor excursions, he would bring along his portable stove and special delicacies and make us sumptuous hot meals on the tailgate of my truck. He was a classy man. I was looking forward to spending more time with him and Anthea, now that they came back to Calgary, Canada and we were just beginning to make new plans when he was suddenly taken from us.
Eric, I’m going to miss you, our conversations, adventures and all you brought into this world.

Eric had a hilarious sense of humour. He pulled this one on Anthea last Christmas (see pic). Friends and family have been sharing how this simple BIG HEARTED man had touched our lives, made us laugh, made us put on weight with his excellent baking and made us a little better people. We WILL MISS YOU Eric!!

First time I met Eric who came to visit with Anthea just outside my kindergarten, I knew I liked this funny guy, who waited patiently for Anthea & i to catch up. It was a long catch up! He added his part in our conversation & I thought him funny!
Met him a few more times when Anthea came back & felt his warm-ness. He had a good pair of listening ears!
I was also honoured to be one of the witness at their ROM.
Rest In Peace Eric.

Eric shared a sound clip of the birds in the countryside of France that I have to this day. His love of nature led me to a group of people who hunt for mushrooms. Eric was the first person I told w about the death of my mum as he was my guest that week. He gave me a heartfelt hug which helped immensely. Eric and Anthea were never far from my mind as I recalled the dinners and music we shared. I felt appreciated and included . A thoughtful and kind man, I will miss you a lot.

Driving Eric to and from golf is something I look forward to and will miss. It was just so intellectually stimulating. Eric was a very kind and thoughtful person. He treated everyone with respect and courtesy and in turn everyone he met at the club liked him a lot. Eric … go get your hole-in-one at the eternal golf course in heaven. I know you are there. Je t'aime mon ami.

Eric, Hugues, Gerard and I used to go hunting in the foothills. Eric had a great sense of nature, paying respect to the animals he would withdraw. We could see that he was in great communion with both land and wildlife. One day he came at home to grab my canoe, and he saw my little 3 years old daughter climbing a ladder. When Eric asked her ‘’ are you sure your are allowed to climb that high ?’’ my little one replied: ‘’ Papa a dit oui’’ ( Dad said Yes). He then named his (my) canoe Papa-a-dit-oui…. Eric enjoyed and cared for my kids, we will miss him.

Eric was such a fine man! He and Anthea would often “put in” or “take out” their canoe at my yard. He carried such a positive spirit and an amazing zest for life. Eric will be missed.
