Please share a memory of Willard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
A Message to Family and Friends:
Will has ridden off into the sunset in pursuit of his next adventure. Those who know and love Will recognize he was not one to stay idle for too long or to leave a project undone. He was a man of few words, but full of action and always willing to help someone in need or to share some laughs and good times.
We want to thank everyone for their positive wishes, special stories and personal remembrances of Will. He has touched so many lives and made deep, sincere and long lasting friendships. We will remember him as a proud father and grandfather who cheered at his grandsons hockey games; as a loyal friend ready for a Friday night dance at the VFW; a willing partner in a pickup game of pool.
We have created this website for Wills family and friends to honor and celebrate his life. If Will touched your life we hope you will share some details, as well as any pictures, so that his family and friends and future generations will rejoice in his memory and legacy. It is our wish that each of you will find solace by honoring Will in a way that is unique and special to you, as he was to each of us who cared so much for him.
Life Legacy
Will LeClair was a crane operator and proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955 since 1973. Involved in many important projects during his career in Calgary, Fort McMurray, and Southern Alberta, he enjoyed sharing stories about his many experiences with family and friends. None of us can drive past a crane without thinking of Grandpa Will. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for many years and the Canadian Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans since 1961. Will lived very simply, passed simply and he would like to be remembered in the same way. For those who would like to pay their respects to Dad or remember him, they should consider doing some of the things he loved. Go for a hike, walk or bicycle ride. Shoot a game of pool with friends. Tell someone a funny joke to make them smile. Have a dance with a pretty girl. Help a friend or family member with something they need fixed or share a meal with people you care about. Those were things that made Dad who he was and would show respect for his memory and impact on people's lives. Will wasn't known for staying still for very long. He was always active or working on some project or another for someone, so you know he's not sitting around now. He's probably out climbing every hill in heaven.
To honor his love for adventure and nature, a tree will be planted in an Alberta forest in Wills memory.
