Obituary of Margaret Marie McCartney

Margaret McCartney beloved wife of Raymond McCartney of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
She was born in LaCorey AB, the youngest of seven children of Francois and Blanche Auger. She met Raymond in Camrose, AB, where she worked as a waitress. They eventually married on January 30, 1952.
Raymond’s service in the Canadian Armed Forces posted them at various locations around the world. She loved music and dancing. She was always young at heart. She loved to laugh and was always smiling. She was lucky in love and lucky at bingo. Always up for a good game of scrabble, Yahtzee, or cards. She didn’t care if she won just wanted to play.
She is survived by her children; Vivian, Valerie (Robert), and Dwayne; four grandchildren, Michael (Amy), Reola (Moe), Raymond (Bena), and Christopher (Melissa); five great-grandchildren, Ethan (Avery), Naomi, Alden, Lauren, Kayden, and the newest great-great-grandchild, Cooper John Mathieu with another one expected in May.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Raymond, son David and son-in-law John.
Funeral Service will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery in the Field of Honour.
