It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helga Mutschmann – Bohnet (nee Claus) at the Rockyview Hospital on May 9, 2022.

 

Helga was born in Ellefeld, Germany May 31, 1928, married the love of her life Hans George Mutschmann March 27, 1948, immigrated to Canada on December 27, 1953, and became a proud Canadian citizen on August 31, 1962.

 

Helga was an incredibly strong, passionate, warm-hearted woman that accomplished much throughout her life. Her unyielding love for her family and willingness to help others stands as a shining example for all that knew her. When adversity struck, she never backed down, she never gave up.

Helga is survived by her loving children, Gabrielle Menzel (Walter), Angela Lepard (Ron), Stephen Mutschmann (Tina), and honorary son, John Sallis (Michelle) all of Calgary, Alberta.

 

Helga is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Menzel (Marcella), Stephanie Menzel (Joesph), Ashley Lepard (Matt), Steven Lepard (Liz), and Amber Sparks; great-grandchildren, Hailey Connor, William Connor & Boeh Sparks. Helga was predeceased by her husband Hans George Mutschmann, her mother, Frieda Klara Claus, and her father George Claus.  A private celebration of life & internment at the Queens Park Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
