Obituary of Om Parkash Jaidka

February 6, 1931 – Zira, India

August 5, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Shri Om Parkash Jaidka, the beloved husband of Shrimati Anjana Rani Jaidka, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 91 years.

 

Shri Om Parkash Ji was born in Zira, Punjab, India, on February 6, 1931. He completed his education in India, and married Shrimati Anjana Ji on May 9, 1960. He accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his children and grandchildren. His most memorable moments were with his grandchildren, Shri Om Parkash Ji always emphasized getting a good education, being independent, and giving back to good causes to help the needy in society.

 

Shri Om Parkash Ji was always grateful to Almighty God for the blessings. He enjoyed watching Indian movies and loved spending time with his family and friends. Shri Om Parkash Ji’s favorite movies included Sholay, Baghban, Karan Arjun, and Shagird. His favorite song was from the Baghban movie; Baghon Ke Har Phool Ko Apna Samjhein Baghban, Har Ghadi Kare Rakhwali, Patti Patti Dali Dali Sinche Baghban, and Baghban Rab Hai Baghban. Shri Om Parkash Ji also loved riding his Royal Enfield motorcycle in India and eating kheer (rice pudding).

 

Shri Om Parkash Ji will be most remembered for his loving, caring, and positive attitude and beautiful smile, regardless of his situation.

 

Besides his loving wife, Shri Om Parkash Ji is survived by his son Amrit Jaidka, daughter-in-law Anju Jaidka, five daughters, Usha Sachar, Shashi Madan, Asha Bhagria, Suman Chopra, and Neetu Sood; five granddaughters, Shivani Sachar, Tanya Bhagria, Malika Madan, Sejal Chopra, and Saachi Chopra; eight grandsons, Vikas Bhagria, Abhinandan Madan, Abhimanyu Madan, Akaash Bhagria, Rohan Jaidka, Rahul Jaidka, Aaryan Jaidka, and Krish Sood; and a great-granddaughter Aura Madan.

 

Shri Om Parkash Ji is also survived by his sister Shrimati Som Lata Puri Ji, his two younger brothers, Shri Ved Parkash Jaidka Ji, and Shri Ram Parkash Jaidka Ji; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4^th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
