Obituary of Elizabeth Helen Margaret Parson

Betty Parson of Calgary, AB, passed away at Foothills Hospital on September 22, 2022, after complications from a stroke at age 90.

 

Betty was born in Victoria, BC, to parents Thomas Jarvis and Elizabeth Givens on September 3, 1932. Betty grew up in Victoria and headed to Calgary after graduating high school, where she worked for an automotive dealership. There, she met the love of her life, Norman Parson, originally form Golden, BC. Betty and Norman married in 1956 and had two daughters, Margaret, and Karen. With two small children, Betty devoted herself to homemaking. She loved gardening, sewing, baking, knocking pins down bowling, and family camping.

 

Betty leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Norman, daughters, Margaret Parson, and Karen (Boz) Crnkovic; granddaughters, Tegan (James) Pym-Hember, and Nicole Parson-Admussen (Kyle Johnson); and great-grandchildren, Felix, and Quinn Pym-Hember.
