Rick, Alec and Anne,
So sorry for your loss. Janet was truly a unique and special person. I have lots of fond memories, she taught me swimming, taught me how to teach swimming and provided the ‘right amount’ of guidance as a boss. She was always fair, compassionate and fun. I respected her immensely. We will all miss her wit, humour and intelligence.

Rick, Anne & Alec,
Janet was my 'work Mom' as you know and she put up with a lot of my shenanigans time & time again.
She was one of the best bosses I ever had and had a profound affect on my shaping & growing up to be a young man.
I remember our pool side chats, her laughter & positivity ... I also remember her side-kick Avril (Laverne & Shirley ;)
Simply put ... your wife & mother was one of a kind and a truly unique and loving human being.
Take Care,
Jeff Mackenzie

I spent many years working with Janet. She is definitely among the most inspiring and influential strong women in my life. I have so many wonderful memories of her telling her entertaining stories. She was a trail blazer and had such a bright spirit. I’m very grateful to have spent time with her in my younger years. Sending the family much love.

To Rick, Alec, Anne and all the family
On behalf of my Mum Avril Johnstone, who is not able to participate in this message at this time, and myself, I would like to say how sad we are to hear of Janet’s passing. Even though we haven’t seen her for some time we have fond memories of her as we both worked with her at the CWC. Her and Mum had a close friendship for many years and encouraged each other to follow their passions. I remember having many conversations in the swim office of life, shenanigans, and every day problems. She was a great listener with a large sense of humor. Farewell to an excellent lady.

Our most sincere condolences to Janet’s family. I will always have fond memories of her at the swimming pool at the Winter Club. She was always kind and helpful, and ready for a chat!

My deepest sympathies to all of Janets family .
I knew Janet from the aquatics activities at CWC where her people skills were
an absolute inspiration to me . As she was pulled this way and that by competing
interests she always showed us how to respect and laugh with one another .
She taught me so much and I am grateful to have known her .
I know she will be missed a very great deal by so very many but none so much as her family .

Dear Rick, Alec and Anne,
Janet was the definition of a fine lady. She taught me how to swim as a little kid because my Mom didn't like the water - and I loved it. I was the 'demo" baby! For 25 years she played many roles in my life, teacher, boss, advocate and friend. I'm thinking of you all and wishing you all the best, knowing that she was loved by so many..... Susan McDonald
