Obituary of John Robert Harbin
July 10, 1957 – Cross Row, Durham
October 1, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
John Harbin, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the age of 65 years.
John was born in England where he resided until he was 16 years old. He then moved to Surrey, BC where he lived with his uncle Alan and auntie Hannah. He went to work as soon as he got to Canada. He made good friends along the way and learned to enjoy sports other than English football. Eventually, John moved to AB with his wife Laurel where he stayed home and looked after his two dogs. He loved to go camping and enjoyed a campfire. He treasured all his family, especially all his grandchildren. John was a young soul with bright eyes and the most infectious laugh. He could light up a room with his energy. John will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. As per John’s wishes, no funeral or Celebration of Life services will be held. John would want to be remembered with a campfire and happy memories.
Besides his loving partner Laurel, John is survived by his four children, Jeff (Alicia), Chris, Troy (Maureen), and daughter, Ainsleigh (Brandon); seven grandchildren, Javin, Adam, Trinity, Brookelyn, Kinsleigh, Austin, and Chase. John is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. John was predeceased by his father, Clement Harbin, and his mother, Anne Harbin, nee Storey.
