We will always remember our week in Calgary during our world trip in 1988/89. Vikerl gave us a warm welcome and hospitality, showed us around the most beautiful places, and of course, invited us to the Austrian Club. We are also thankful for the several chances of reunion on the occasion of his visits to Baden during the following years.

The photos show Uncle Herwig during his last visit to Austria. After the long journey to the Weinviertel and followed by a little nap in the sun, he once again delighted us with his stories. I will greatly miss the beautiful and colorful photos he shared with us.

We took this selfie during our Calgary visit to Uncle Herwig's apartment in 2015. We remember with pleasure to the entertaining days spent together! The visit to the old property where Uncle Herwig's house once stood, his former photography studio, the funny visit to his German hearing aid acoustician. There were some more funny scenes like Uncle Herwig's amazement that Petra had bought cowboy boots at Alberta Boot's Manufactory in just one minute: "I have never met a woman who buys shoes in less than a minute". This is one of the pictures of Uncle Vic which I love most. It shows him at on of his favourite pastimes - compiling documents and music pieces for the radio broadcasting.
He always loved to put together an entertaining programme, telling anecdotes about his youth in Austria, about the golden operetta era and amusing incidents.
