Dieter Renner of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the age of 89 years.
Dieter was born in Neustrelitz, Germany on November 3, 1933. He emigrated from Germany in 1955, settling in Calgary, AB. Dieter married Helga Nesswetter in 1960. Dieter accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his entire family. Dieter had a passion for all sporting events, as well as spending time outdoors. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor, and no-nonsense approach.
Dieter is survived by his one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Douglas Wolf of Calgary, AB; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Darlene Renner of Grande Prairie, AB; four grandchildren, Travis, and Shawn Deneve of Sherwood Park, AB, Megan Hopkin (Derek) of Edmonton, AB, and Anna Renner of Grande Prairie, AB. Dieter is also survived by his one brother and sister-in-law, Wolf and Shannon Renner of White Rock, BC; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbel and Harold Browne of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dieter was predeceased by his spouse Helga, parents, Walter and Anna; and brother Klaus Renner.
Funeral Services will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 2:00. p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
