Obituary of Wayne Frank Brown

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

September 11, 1943 - January 30, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Brown on the 30th of January 2023, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Wayne was born on September 11, 1943, in Lethbridge, Alberta, the only child of Frank Brown and Irene Kurtz. Throughout his life, Wayne lived with a deep passion for adventure, creativity, and family. Wayne started out working on farms and then later as a B-Pressure welder before finding his true calling in real estate, where he worked for over 33 years in Calgary, Alberta, earning many accolades.

Wayne had a passion for snow and water skiing, fishing, two-step dancing, cooking, and woodworking. He was an avid dirt bike racer and won numerous trophies. He also built a log cabin in BC and made memories there that will be cherished forever. He was always the life of the party, with a warm smile and infectious laugh.

He is survived by his three children, Shelley (Brent), Carolyn (Peter), and Darcy (Brandy), and six grandchildren all from Calgary Alberta. Along with his half-brother Doug Brown, Wayne is also survived by his aunts, cousins, and other members of the Dalgleish family.

Wayne will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. He wanted to give special thanks to two of his long-time friends: "JB" for all the Friday night calls and Sue, who went above and above to bring him food and snacks while he was sick.

At Wayne’s request, there will not be a service, his obituary and additional photos are available online here.
