I spent time with Stanley as a friend and companion for the past year. I went with him to denture appointments, doctor's appointments, took him shopping, for haircuts and coffee. We became good friends and shared a lot of stories and laughter. Stan could be a grump but he always came 'round if you listened to him and tried to understand. His life was an interesting one from what he told me and a good one. He knew there were risks in having surgery but was willing to take the risk to try and improve his quality of life. I love to write and plan to write a summary of my friendship with Stanley. I would welcome conversation with any of his family or friends. I am sad at his passing and will miss Stan's friendship very much. Rest in Peace, my friend. Sincerest condolences to his family, especially Luanne and Denise.
