Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

April 8, 1965 – Banff, Alberta

February 11, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the unexpected passing of Teresa Michelle Kaminski of Cochrane, AB, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the age of 57 years. She was born in Banff, Alberta on April 8, 1965, to Charles and Marilee (Nicholas) Aubin. Teresa was the second of two children and was best friends with her sister Angele.

In 1968, Teresa and her family moved to Calgary, AB where she later graduated from St. Francis High School in 1983. Teresa welcomed her first daughter, Nicole, in 1985, and worked in the oil industry before having her second daughter, Haley, in 1992.

In 1996, she moved her family out to Cochrane, where she began restoring one of the town’s oldest historical homes, before having her third child, Joshua, that fall.

A true lover of animals, Teresa was a certified, professional dog groomer and ran her own home business "Pampered Pets Grooming Salon". She built meaningful relationships with her clients and their pets and made everyone feel safe, loved, and comfortable. She had a brilliant sense of humour, and a fun, sweet personality. Over the years, Teresa with her big heart welcomed critters of all shapes and sizes into the family, from birds to reptiles to rodents and everything in between. It fostered a great appreciation of all living things in her children. Teresa cherished her family more than anything and shared a deep, special bond with her cats.

Teresa is survived by her three children, Nicole, Haley, and Joshua, and her loving granddaughter Charlene whom she absolutely adored. She is also survived by her mother Marilee, brother-in-law Lothar, nephews Jordan (Alex) and Nick (Sarah), and their children, as well as many relatives down in Seattle, WA. Teresa is predeceased by her father, Charles, and her sister, Angele.

Along with her love for animals, Teresa loved nature, and antiques, and had a remarkable green thumb. Her historical home was her pride and joy, much of it restored with her own two hands. Few things satisfied her quite like finding a beautiful antique in a flea market, save for maybe an afternoon spent gardening in the sun or visiting the mountains with her family. Her creative, compassionate spirit will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Photos, memories, and condolences may be shared with Teresa’s family at www.calgarycrematorium.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cochrane Humane Society in memory of Teresa would be deeply appreciated. A celebration of Teresa's life will be held; however, the date is yet to be determined. Please check the memorial website for updates.
