Cheryl Demchuk, the beloved wife of David Demchuk of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 62 years.

Cheryl was born in Stonewall, Manitoba on January 15, 1961.

She moved to Calgary Alberta, in 1978.

Cheryl’s employment history was not extensive. Her favorite role was as a homemaker and mother. The second was at Sobey’s, where she ended her career, due to health reasons. There she was called Momma Cher by her coworkers.

Cheryl married David Demchuk on May 20, 1989, in Calgary AB.

Cheryl had a great love for children. She volunteered for the Festival of Trees, Children’s Miracle Telethon, then Radiothon. Also the Girl Guides of Canada for over 11 years.

Cheryl accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of the three wonderful children she raised.

Cheryl loved craftwork and was always working on crafts gifts, for her children and friends. Another passion was cooking and canning. As her illness progressed, and her mobility decreased, the TV barely left the cooking channels.

In March 2016 Cheryl, along with David, Hope, Jeremy, and Maxine went on a family vacation to Jamaica. This was the last vacation as a full family. This was her favorite holiday. She had such a great time, as her family was all together.

Cheryl also had a love for anything country. Music, Rodeos. Her favorite song was “Forever and Ever Amen”, by Randy Travis. This was also the song used for the bride and groom dance, at her wedding.

She will be remembered for her love of friends and family, her kindness, and her generosity.

She is survived by her husband, David, and her children, Hope, Jeremy, and Maxine, from Calgary AB. Sisters and brothers, Cindy (Gerry) Zorn of Whitewood Saskatchewan, Carol (Joe) Blunden of Calgary AB., Rodney (Tracy) Hanson of Lethbridge AB., Colleen (Jim) Hanson of Port Hope Ontario, Calvin (Jan) Hanson of Strathmore AB., Gary Hanson of Airdrie AB.
