Obituary of Rita Eleanor Briscoe

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Rita Eleanor Briscoe (nee Bell), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the age of 85 years.
Rita enjoyed travelling, camping, and spending time outdoors. She also liked jigsaw puzzles, watching hockey and sports on TV, and walking to the park to watch the great-grandkids play. Rita loved working on her various collections, especially the family tree with her sisters Doreen and Linda. This love was passed on to her daughters and grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband of 66 years Russell of Calgary, AB; four daughters, Cindy Briscoe of Calgary, AB, Sandra Oostlander (Steve) of Bassano, AB, Brenda Foster (Craig) of Kelowna, BC, and Rhonda Griffiths (Bill) of Calgary, AB; ten grandchildren, Tyrel, Mathew, Mandy, Landon, Trisha, Jodie, Garrett, Curtis, Chelsea, and Joshua; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Rita was predeceased by her parents, George and Martha “Pat” Bell, and three sisters, Doreen Hart, Rosalie Maurer, and Linda Hale.
A Gathering will be held at Calgary Crematorium Chapel, (3219 – 4th Street NW, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
