Obituary of William Edward Sherring

 

February 26, 1942 - Regina, Saskatchewan

April 16, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

 

 

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of William Edward “Ed” Sherring of Calgary, AB, on Sunday April 16, 2023 at 81 years of age.

 

Ed was born to Frank and Violet Sherring on February 26, 1942 in Regina, SK. He grew up in Lethbridge and later moved to Vancouver after high school, where he met his wife Yvonne Garand. They married in Lethbridge on December 28, 1963 and later relocated to Calgary, where they raised their two children.

 

Ed loved travelling with Yvonne to warm destinations, as well as watching hockey and football - especially critiquing the bad plays and missed goals.

 

Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yvonne of Calgary; his daughter Debbie (Cam) of Calgary; son Ken (Erica) of Calgary; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Kennedy, Dylan and Christian. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Bill) of Vancouver; and brother George (Velma) of Lethbridge; as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Ed was predeceased by his parents Violet and Frank.
