Dear Mom,
We all miss you sooo much. We weren’t ready to experience such sadness and loneliness without you here with us. Our hearts are shattered. We know you are watching over us and making sure we are ok. We are taking such good care of dad as you asked each of us to. We love you and miss you every minute of each day.

My dear grandma was the best grandma anyone could have the privilege of having as a grandma. Between her lessons in cooking/baking and sewing, to collecting all sorts of recycling for crafts, to her contagious laugh, there was never a dull moment with her around. There was always so much love and laughter surrounding her.
Grandma was always calling to check in, to share a memory or to share what she made grandpa for lunch that day. We had many wonderful summers together at the cabin, special occasions and holidays. I have so many wonderful memories with her and with her and grandpa (“off with her head!” and playing spoons to name a few), and for that, I will be forever grateful.
Grandma, I am so fortunate to have had you in my life for as long as I did. I will forever cherish the things your shared with me (as well as with my sisters, cousins and my family) and will always hold you dear to my heart. Your memory, lessons and recipes will continue on in our family. We will see you again one day; don’t worry about grandpa, you know all of us grandkids will help take care of him and he’ll never be alone. We love you and miss you every day.
Love Jamie, Justin and Jamieson xo

I had the pleasure of meeting Florence at my local Quilter’s Quild in Invermere, BC many years ago.
When she was in the valley, she would often come to the meetings. She was a fabulous teacher, and encouraged everyone. She always made you feel important and always had kind words to say. She had a great laugh and the members of the Quild were so excited when Florence would come and share her latest projects. One year, a few of our members made the trip to Calgary to see a display of her beautiful quilts at Heritage Park.
I am so happy that Florence was such a huge inspiration in my quilting “journey”.
I send my heartfelt condolences.

It is my honour to preside over her memorial service at our church. I was not her pastor, but I was her next-door neighbour and we just loved her! I have lived beside her and Tom for 12 years now and I remember many good conversations on our driveways!
Florence was a beautiful and generous person with a big heart for people! And she knew Jesus as her Saviour as well!
I pray that the Lord will bring peace and comfort to the hearts of the family with the assurance that we will see her again in God's presence!
And Tom, if you need anything, just come knock on my door.
Rest in peace, Florence, we shall see you again!
Pastor Markus Zeuch...or just Markus, Thais, Lucas and Melissa, the neighbours!

I’ll miss showing her my knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting … projects, and basking in her praise, knowing she could appreciate the effort that went into creating them.
I’ll miss regaling her with tales of my four children’s exploits, as she loved a good laugh. I can still hear her laughing over the punchline of a joke I’d told at supper as she was getting ready for bed.
I’ll miss the friendly, easy way she had with everyone she met.
I’ll miss the fierce love she felt for my Dad and her family.
Her passing has left a hole in my life that nothing will ever fill because nothing else is like a mother’s love.

I'll remember all the delicious food that Florence prepared for us. Here she is on a hot summer day at the Radium cabin. She proudly used their garden produce - there is nothing better than fresh baby carrots. She took pleasure in sharing recipes and discussing the merits of healthy eating. I know the family will remember her experiments with soy flour, liver, and more. She was considerate of my vegetarian habit and conscientious with other eating preferences and needs.
All that said, she was also keen on butter tarts!

Florence was an amazing woman from so many perspectives, its hard to know where to start. She had such joy for life and the people whose lives she encountered. I, as a guild member of The Valley Piecemakers of Invermere, B.C. came to know what a truly talented and gifted quilter she was as over the years she often shared her knowledge with our guild along with her amazing Trunk Shows. Once you saw her in action teaching you came to love everything about her as she shared her knowledge freely with much encouragement especially to new quilters. She was humble, caring, generous, creative, loving , along with a wonderful sense of humor and loyal to all. Once you met her you never forgot her or her beloved husband Tom. The world is greater place for all she gave of herself and to anyone who was fortunate to have had the opportunity to have been a part of her world in even a small way. Florence you will be forever remembered as a truly joyful woman who made the world a better place and you will be deeply missed by those who felt privileged to have met you!
