July 19, 1937 - Balton, Manitoba

June 27, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Fred Ephrem Onofriechuk, beloved husband of deceased wife Vallee Onofriechuk, passed away on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at the age of 86.

He left home at sixteen and went to Ontario with his brother Jim. Fred then moved to Regina, SK. He met his beautiful wife Vallee, and they married soon after. Fred accomplished much through his life, working as a pipe fitter, plumber and a construction worker.

Fred’s most memorable vacation was getting stuck on the San Francisco Bridge. He only had dime in his pocket and had to pawn off one of Sherrie’s friend’s watches to get across the bridge.

Fred enjoyed all the laughs with his Coffee Buddies. We will meet you soon.

“Thank you Joy for being such a good friend.”

He will be most remembered for all his joking around.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Fred is survived by Justin (Jenall), and their two sons and daughter; Sherrie (Ken) and their two sons; Susie (Eric) and their son and daughter; Cindy (Hugh) and their daughter and three sons; Bonnie (Johnny) and their daughter and son; thirteen grandchildren;  sixteen great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters, Johnny, Sylvia, Elsie, Doreen (Mike), and Syliva (Hermas); and nieces, nephews and cousins, Nick, Rosanne, Kieth, Dawnee, Tony and Marnie Sanderson’s sister-in-law.

Graveside Services will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 – 4th Street NW) within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a car at Calgary Crematorium to lead everyone to the site. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
