Obituary of Brent COURTNEY

Please share a memory of Brent to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Brent Courtney, who died at the Foothills hospital on Saturday, July 19th.  Brent taught Statistics for over 20 years at Mount Royal University in the Bissett School of Business.  Brent will be remembered by his friends, colleagues and former students as a dedicated and caring instructor, who had a passion for teaching and learning. Brent loved his job and was always pleased to hear about the success of his former students.

Brent was a kind, caring and intelligent man with a generous spirit. He would truly help anyone in need. He was an avid model aviator. He was also an excellent carpenter who spent many an evening and weekend working on building and renovation projects and was always proud to show off his fine workmanship. He took great pride in growing tomatoes, which he then distributed to his friends and colleagues, and was a long-time contributor to the annual Bissett Salvation Army fundraiser. Brent’s calm and quiet disposition, together with his somewhat quirky personality, will be long remembered by all who knew him.  He touched the lives and hearts of many people and will be greatly missed.

Memorial Services will be held at THE CALGARY CREMATORIUM AND FUNERAL HOME, 3219 – 4 Street N.W. (within the grounds of Queen’s Park Cemetery, Calgary) on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
