August 8, 2014 Calgary, Alberta
Peggy Elizabeth King of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, August 8th, 2014, at the age of 76 years. Peggy is survived by her four sons: Michael (Joan), Robert (Cynthia), David (Susan) and Steven (Astra), her eight grandchildren: Bjorn (Brandi), Christopher, Nickolas, Carmen, Brandon, Jordan, Jaxen and Camden and her two great-granddaughters: Mykiah and Zendaya. Peggy is also survived by her sister Joan Frost of Edmonton, AB and her brothers Bill (Fran) Bartlett and Allan (Kerry) Bartlett, both of Winnipeg, MB. Peggy was predeceased by her loving husband Ciaran, brothers Derek, Bryan and Michael and sister Earlene. Peggy was born to parents Edith and George Bartlett on December 11th, 1937 in Carman, MB, where she spent her early years. As a young adult, Peggy relocated to Winnipeg, MB, where she met her future husband Ciaran. Once married, Peggy and Ciaran relocated to Calgary, AB, where they put down roots and began their family together. Over the years, Peggy worked at various administrative jobs, but found her true calling as a wife, mother and homemaker. Perhaps Peggys greatest accomplishment was raising her four sons. She took great pride in watching them grow into strong, independent and successful men. Later in life, she found much enjoyment spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggys memory will live on through the family she helped build. Peggys family would like to thank the staff at the Santuari Hospice (Peter Lougheed Centre) in Calgary, AB, for making Peggys final days peaceful, comfortable and filled with love. In respect of Moms wishes, a formal service will not be held. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 325 Manning Rd. N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 2P5 Telephone: (403) 205-3966, email donorservices@cancer.ab.ca. Forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
