Rose Marie Paul passed away Sunday, September 10, 2014 at the age of 79 years.
She was born in 1934 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and moved to Rutland, British Columbia. She married Karl Spahl (deceased 2010) and moved to Victoria, Estavan Point, Vancouver, and Prince George before settling in Calgary in 1969. She worked as a Nurse and was very active in the Calgary Association for the Mentally Handicapped (DDRC).
She traveled extensively in latter years, to Egypt, Syria, Europe and China. She was a devoted mother and dear friend.
She is survived by sons Randall, Martin and Todd Spahl; grandchildren Jessica and Mark Spahl and Katalin Spahl-Barabas; sister Billie Hammerschmid; nieces and nephews Brenda Moss and Kelly Hammerschmid; Eric, Roy, Paul, Joanne, David, and Gerald Jensen.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Rochus and Maria and brother Joseph and sister Lea.
A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
