Please share a memory of Eloise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eloise Knight, beloved wife of Edward Knight, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Born in Saskatoon, Eloise was the youngest of six children born to Charles and Ada Rooney. The family moved from Saskatoon to Nova Scotia in the mid 1930’s followed by moves to Calgary, Cloverdale and finally to Kimberly, BC. In March of 1952, while attending secretarial school in Calgary, Eloise met her future husband and they married in December 1953. She was a ‘stay at home’ mom until 1967 at which time she began working with Simpson Sears, and retiring in 1991. While in retirement Eloise enjoyed playing bridge, volunteering at Confederation Park Lodge, and spending time at the Moyie Lake summer cottage. Her work ethic always was: ‘focus completely on the task until finished’. Her compassion and friendly smile will be missed by all. Eloise is survived by her sons Douglas (Colleen), Cameron; grandchildren Leslie (James) Stevenson, Kevin Knight, Cody Knight; great-grandchildren Owen and Elliot Stevenson; and sister Elaine Lunn of Sidney, BC. A Celebration of Eloise’s Life will be held at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Salvation Army Agape Hospice, 1302 – 8 Ave N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8, telephone: (403) 282-6588. Eloise’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of the Salvation Army Agape Hospice and Dr. R. Sharma for their kind and compassionate care.
