It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and dear friend at the Care West Colonel Belcher on Sunday, July 28th 2013 at the age of 94 years. Ivan was born and raised on the family farm near Sexsmith Alberta. He served in the Canadian army in WW11 in the Ordinance Core. Postings saw him in the Aleutian Islands and the European theatre of operations. After the war he married Trella May Cook in 1947, and they raised a family of three active boys. Father was involved in farming and as a grain buyer. He was also successfully involved in many aspects of the oil industry. He worked on pipelines, in refineries and as a purchasing agent for many years. Ivan was active in The Order of DeMolay, his Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to give a hand to his friends and neighbors. Some of the breakfast’s he would cook up on Sunday mornings especially his famous pancakes for neighbors and family were legendary. He was a proud Canadian and a true Albertan. He will be greatly missed by both friends and family. Ivan is survived by his brother Larry (Irene), three sons ,Dennis (Shelley), Greg (Laura) and Richard (Yvonne); seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Trella in 1999.
