Obituary of Joy BEACH

Joy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. She was a graduate of the University of British Columbia and a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. After graduating Joy worked in the travel industry for many years living in many Canadian cities and travelled extensively worldwide. In later years, she returned to Vancouver and worked with the Federal Government in Human Resources. Over the years Joy volunteered with United Way, Canadian Cancer Society and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed many activities such as playing tennis and bridge, attending musical and theatrical events and loved gourmet cooking. Joy is survived by her sister Lois Johnson; two nieces Cindy Heister and Lynn Johnson; and her nephew Sean. A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Michael W. Johnson Memorial Scholarships at the University of Calgary, 2500 University Drive NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1N4.
