Obituary of Godfrey Ernest Frank DANIEL

Godfrey (Jeff) Daniel of Calgary passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the age of 90 years. Jeff was born and raised in Calgary. Following his education, Jeff served his country overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945. Upon returning home he began his career as an electrician with Calgary Power. Jeff worked as a journeyman electrician and power lineman for a number of years with the City of Calgary Electric System prior to serving in various managerial positions with the Electric System, retiring after over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast, elite fly fisherman and wilderness canoeist. He loved to be in nature and thoroughly enjoyed everything it could offer. Jeff married the love of his life, Pearl Slater in 1942 who predeceased him after 55 years of marriage in 1997. Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his son, Gary; his daughter, Sharon Holcek; and grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie Daniel all of Calgary. He was also predeceased by his brother, Bob in 1997. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL with a graveside service to follow in the Field of Honour at Queens Park Cemetery.
