Obituary of Jack DUFFEY

Jack Timothy Duffey, beloved son of father Tim, mother Katie and big sister Madison, was sent to be with the Angels on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the age of 1 year. Jack blessed us with his arrival on October 29, 2009 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. He was then blessed to be cared for at the Stollery Childrens Hospital where he received the gift of heart surgery on Christmas Eve. Jack came home to Calgary and enjoyed the remainder of his life, including his first birthday, in the hands of Angels at the Alberta Childrens Hospital. Jack faced incredible adversity in his short time with us, and his courage, determination and desire made us all very proud of him. Jack leaves a precious gift within anyone who knew him and he will never be forgotten. We love you forever, Sweet Jacky Boy, and we rest in knowing you are now free to run and seek out your favourite adventures with Dora and Tigger. Rest peacefully son; we love you. Jacks memory will be forever cherished by his Mama and Dada, the entire Duffey, McMahon, Bedard and Deakin families, many friends and all those who took such special care of him. A Celebration of Jacks Life was held at St. Peters Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Drive NW on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests offering a donation on behalf of Jack to the Alberta Childrens Hospital. Bless the special and gifted nurses, RTs and staff in the Alberta Childrens hospital PICU who cared for him with such grace and dignity. Special thanks also to the team at the Foothills Hospital NICU, Ronald McDonald House, Emilys Backyard, Kitty, Laurie Lee, Dr. Harder, Dr. Fruitman, Dr. Gilad and Dr. Ross.
