Doris Dustan passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Doris was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to George and Olga Laycock. She started her career as a teacher and later worked with Alberta Telephones for many years. Doris was an accomplished artist, golfer and an avid Calgary Flames Fan. Doris was gifted with a great sense of humour and talent for sewing. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be treasured in our hearts forever. Doris is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, June and Danny of Calgary; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Linda of Calgary and Doug and Noreen of Vancouver; grandchildren, Lyndsay (Asim), Melissa (John), Dustan (Lori), Dan (Naomi), Joelle (Jean) and Nicole as well as eight cherished great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen McIntyre and brothers, Jim, Raymond and Roy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Doris life was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of memorial tributes, spend some time with a senior or loved one who is special to you.
