Obituary of Emmy EVERDING

It is with great sadness the family of Emmy Everding announces her sudden passing on July 1, 2011. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Oma) who enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and friends and all the simple things in life. She will forever be in our hearts. Emmy was born on Sept. 26, 1921, in the village of Sabudnow, near Lublin, Poland. She married her husband Heinrich in Probsthagen, Germany on Aug. 17, 1950. They immigrated to Canada in 1952 and made Calgary, AB their home. Emmy leaves behind to mourn her passing her beloved husband Heinrich of 60 years of marriage; her son, Heinz (Carol) Everding; daughter, Shirley Lalonde; 4 grandchildren; Robert and Ryan Everding; Paul and Christine Scigliano as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, residing in both Canada and Germany. She is predeceased by her parents Gustav and Friederike Jantz and eight siblings, Daniel, August, Ludwig and Adolf Dey and sisters Margareta Gesswein, Othelia Kern, Hulda Klaus and Juliana Fischer. The family has chosen to have a private burial at Queens Parks Cemetary. The family hosted an open house in her memory on July 16th, 2011. A special thanks to her three companions Barbara, Marlena & Joan for the care and compassion they had for Emmy as well as the staff at the Sunnyside Unit of the Brentwood Care Centre.
