Please share a memory of Kathleen Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen Kaye Margaret Ewin passed away peacefully on August 12, 2011 at the age of 96 years. Kaye was born in Calgary on December 26, 1914, the first of four children. She graduated from the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing in 1938 and proudly served at the General for several years before moving to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with her husband, Hector Robson. There, they raised their twin girls, Bonnie and Brenda, while Kaye nursed and worked for World Book Encyclopedia. The family returned to Calgary in 1964, where Kaye continued her work with World Book and became involved with the Calgary General Hospital Nursing Alumnae Association.
Kaye will be remembered for her kindness and generosity; she supported many charities and was always ready to lend a hand to family and friends. Family was very important to her; they will remember her delicious Christmas dinners prepared with love. She relished learning and inspired others to be curious about the world around them. Her keen sense of humour never failed to bring smiles and laughter. Kaye travelled extensively and particularly enjoyed visiting family and friends in England.
Kaye is fondly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Scott; grandson John Scott; sister Sheila Clark; sister-in-law Ethel Warren; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; step-family of England; many special friends. She is predeceased by her parents William and Verne Warren; first husband Hector Robson; second husband Bill Ewin; sister Patte Legge; brother Terry Warren; daughter Bonnie Robson; granddaughter Wendy Scott.
A Celebration of Kayes life will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 2:30pm at Hillcrest Extendicare, 1512, 8th Ave. NW, Calgary. In keeping with Kayes generous spirit, a donation to the charity of ones choice in memory of Kaye would be greatly appreciated.
