Obituary of Robert HUNTER

Robert Rob Hunter, beloved husband of Rachael Hunter, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the age of 57 years. Rob was born in Birmingham, England to Robert and Gene Hunter. He was educated in Oxfordshire and immigrated to Canada in 1983 where he began his company, Western Gardens Landscaping. Robs heart resided in the Canadian wilderness where he enjoyed hiking and fly fishing. Rob is survived by his loving wife, Rachael (nee Veale); daughters, Julia and Molly; his mother, Gene Watson of Australia; sister Rosie (Guy); niece Clara and nephew Hugo; his sister Alice and niece Freya both of England; and his brother Adam (Jan)of Australia. He is also survived by Rachaels family, father-in-law Frank Veale; sisters-in-law Ros (Geoff) and Sara (Del); brothers-in-law Chris (Marje), Jem (Paula), and Sam (Steph); as well as several nieces and nephews of the U.K. and Spain. He was predeceased by his father Robert Sr. Pat (1994) and his mother-in-law Gillian Veale (2010). A Memorial Service was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.
