It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Major Nahar Singh Jawandha at the age of 89 years.
Major was in service in the Indian Army for over 38 years and awarded twelve operational and meritorious long service medals. He will be remembered for his great dedication to his family, friends and society. Major was known to be a positive and energetic individual who had a commitment to societys greater good.
Major Jawandha is survived by his three sons, two daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered within our hearts.
Funeral Services were held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:30 p.m., followed by services at Gurdwara Deshmesh Darbar Calgary N.E.
