Obituary of Helen MARSHALL

Helen Marshall, the granddaughter of Robert and Anna Gillespie who immigrated from Ireland to Calgary in 1885, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the age of 86 Years. Helen was raised in Sunnyside, attended Normal Practice Elementary School and Western Canada High School. She worked for AGT as a telephone operator, Northmount Tuxedo and SOC Credit Unions. In 1948, Helen married Kenzie Marshall, who passed away in 1988. She was a member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers and their decendants. Helen is survived by two daughters, Penny Brodie of Scotland and Kandy (Lyle) Ewashen of Singapore; six grandchildren: James (Sonja) Brodie, Corrie (Kieren) Beltrame, Crystal (Mike) Connolly, Stephanie Moeck, twins Alex and Cole Ewashen; great-grandson John Connolly; brother Gordon (Helen) Gillespie; two nephews Rob (Cindy) Gillespie, and Wayne (Heidi) Gillespie. She was predeceased by husband Roger Mailhiot in 2010; parents Bob and Margaret Gillespie; and her first husband Kenzie Marshall.
