Gertrude (Gertie) Emma Myers passed away peacefully in Calgary, on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the age of 93 years, having spent the day with her loving family by her side. Gertrude was predeceased by Maurice, her loving husband and best friend of 60 years and her brother Frankie. She will be dearly remembered by her children; Murray (Cheryl Ann), Joan (Alan), Ken (Susan) and Gary (Peggy), grandchildren; Griffin (Jen), Dustin (Marni), Terrence, Christopher (Quan), Jessica (Darren), Steven (Catherine), Kymberlea (Chad), Deirdre, Laurie (Ricky), Kelly, Kurtis and Cindy, great-grandchildren; Jaden, Vanessa, Grayson, Quint, Tia-Lou, Calum, Nieve, Calla, Drake, Bryce and Maxton. Gertrude will also be missed by her brothers Jack (Rollande) and Fred and sister-in-law Joyce, all of Montreal and their families.
Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of choice in Gertrudes name.
