Pearl Ramsay of Calgary passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Pearl was born on July 9, 1921 on the family farm in Richlea, Saskatchewan. She married Ian Ramsay and made their home in Calgary. Pearl loved the simple things in life, the outdoors, sunsets and especially enjoyed camping, hiking and travelling. Her family was the centre of her universe. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always touched those around her with her kindness. To know her was to love her. Pearl is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Val Smyth and Joanne and Roland; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary-Lou and Doug and Julie; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ian in April 2006. Special thanks to the caregivers at Hillcrest Nursing Home, especially volunteer and friend, Joan Howard for the compassion and care shown to our mother and family.
