Obituary of Eilene TAYLOR

Please share a memory of Eilene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with sorrow that the family of Eilene Gladys Taylor announces her passing on Thursday February 10, 2011. Eilene was a proud Native Calgarian who spent her life living and working in Calgary, growing up in Bridgeland. Eilene was the last of the 11 children of Philip and Lydia Kniss. She believed in the importance of family and worked keeping in touch with family. Eilene loved to socialize and often wanted to stay visiting, long after her husband was ready to go. She worked hard running the printing press to help her husband start Kalpress Limited. She was a 60-year member of the order of the Eastern Star, Edith Cavell Chapter No. 25, as well as the Worthy Matron in 1965. Eilene was a long time member of Daughters of the Nile, Sakkara Temple #115. Eilene has coped with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) since her high school days. Eilene didnt let the MS stand in her way of doing the things she enjoyed. These included gardening, with fond memories of Jumping Jacks, Money Tree & Japanese lanterns. Eilene enjoyed traveling, especially when it was to celebrate her birthday with her twin sister, Irene Duckett. Eilene had a sweet tooth that she indulged in at the cottage with Sylvan Lake Sugar Bread. She will be remembered for her dry humour, quiet determination, gracious hospitality and her can do attitude. Eilene spent fifty-eight years with her husband Henry Allan (Al) and traveled to many places. Eilene was ready to join her husband, who passed in December 2008, whom she will reunite with in time to celebrate the anniversary of their meeting on Valentines Day. Her daughters Mary Lynn Brown and Debbie Nason, the son-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren invited friends to a celebration of her life at The Good Shepherd Church, 6311 Norfolk Drive NW, Calgary on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2 PM. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to Queen Elizabeth High School, Henry Phillip Taylor Trust Fund, 512 - 18 St., NW Calgary, Alberta T2M 0T6.
