Obituary of Avril Williamson

Avril Rae, beloved mother of Ryan, Scott and Jeff Williamson, passed away at the Sarcee Hospice on Sunday, July 17, 2011 after a serious illness at the age of sixty-one years. Avril raised three wonderful sons to whom she provided unconditional love and support throughout the years and she will be remembered fondly by them. She dealt with a succession of very difficult medical issues over the years but managed to address them with grace, dignity, poise and courage. Her bravery and strength has been an inspiration to all those who have known her. She consistently exhibited a self deprecating sense of humour even through her most difficult ordeals, which proved so comforting and reassuring to those around her. She exhibited a thoughtfulness and selflessness throughout her life and she cherished her family and her children who were always the most important things to her. She had a special affinity for animals and will be missed by her beloved cat Josie. Avril was a supportive, caring and loving mother to her three sons who will embrace the many positive memories that they have shared with her over the years and for which they will be eternally grateful. Besides her loving children, Avril is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Shauna Williamson (nee Coffey) and Jodi Williamson (nee Hall), as well as two beautiful granddaughters, Caimbree and Meira Williamson. She is also survived by her brother John Parkins and sister-in-law Glenda, as well as nephews Michael and Brent. She was predeceased by her mother and father Joyce and Raymond Parkins. If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to a charity of their choice in Avrils name. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Foothills Hospital, especially Unit 57 and ICU, as well as Sarcee Hospice, and Natalie and Leona for the exceptional care and comfort they extended to Avril in her final days.
