Obituary of Djuro ZADRAVEC

Please share a memory of Djuro to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In loving memory of George who passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 after a lengthy illness. George was born April 22, 1931 in Zavescak, Croatia and left his mark in Europe, Australia and finally in Canada. George was the proud father of Ivan, Joe and Suzy; proud father-in-law of Michelle, Bryan and Laurie; and proud grandfather of Robyn, Joel, Rhyan, Riley, Shaye and Sydney. He is also survived by his sisters, Agatha (John) Dippong and Mary Peras, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Ivan, mother Katarina and brother Franjo. George was a proud ballroom dancer, musician, disc jockey, woodworker and guitar maker, gardener, palm reader and philosopher, and wine maker consumer. George lived his life without regret and filled with (mis-) adventures. His creative nature kept him busy and in demand, from twisting trees into unnatural forms to composing music. His eccentricities always kept us entertained, surprised and sometimes apprehensive. He will truly be missed. A Celebration of Georges life was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Southwood Hospice, c/o Hospice Calgary, 1245 70th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 2X8, Telephone: (403) 263-4525, www.hospicecalgary.com. Special thanks to Agatha and John Dippong for all their prayers and unconditional love, care and support.
