WOW! 106 years. Myrtle Evelyn Glambeck's life was full of adventure and new experiences. Her family homesteaded in eastern Alberta and later moved to the Stettler area, where she met the love of her life, Carl. They were married for 73 years. Evelyn loved to paint and mastered the computer at 80. She was an excellent homemaker, and an accomplished salesperson at Dayton’s Ladies Wear in Chinook Centre. She was always positive, liked to learn something new every day and had a smile for everybody. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three children John (Carole), Carol (Bill) Herron, Gail (Gordon) Sherley; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Florence (nee Burke) and Thomas Lafferty; husband Carl; three sisters; one brother; and son Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
