Obituary of Luigi AMATO

Gino passed away peacefully with his loving daughter Cinzia at his side, on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. He lived a wonderful 82 years. Born in Cosenza, Italy, he came to Canada in 1967 with his wife and daughter. Gino worked Construction in Calgary and later at the General Hospital where he retired at the age of 65. He is survived by his daughter Cinzia (Bob); his grandchildren Carmen and Nickolas Crisanti; and his life long companion Elvira Amato. Gino also leaves behind his brothers Emilio (Catherine) and Atillio in Italy; brothers-in-law Giovanni, Frank and Lucio (Anna) Mollo; sisters-in-law Lidia Gradilone (Pasquali), Anna Signoretti (Richard) and Rosetta Mollo as well as many nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and Italy. We will miss his generous heart, warm smile and willingness to help with anything. Funeral Services were held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Unit 62 at the Foothills Hospital and the wonderful people at the Peter Lougheed Centre, Santuari Hospice.
