Mary Carr of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
Mary was born in Buffalo, AB in 1923. She married a neighbors son, Lawrence Carr on November 14, 1947, and they bought a farm where they raised cattle and farmed for twenty years. Their daughter Sharon was born in 1948, son Lorne was born in 1952, and granddaughter Kim in 1981. After selling the farm, Mary and Lawrence moved to Edmonton and later to Calgary. Mary loved people, flowers, gardening, birds, and music, and loved sharing those things with others. No one ever left her home hungry.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon, cherished granddaughter, Kim, sisters, Annie Robertson and Sunni Turner, and many nieces and nephews. Her angel here on earth Marzena (Eva) Lamperka who loved her like a mother.
She was predeceased by her sweetheart and husband, Lawrence, on October 12, 2008 and her son Lorne on September 2, 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queens Park Cemetery) on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. In honour of Mary, please wear bright colours.
