Obituary of Charlton WICKENS

Charlton Raymond (Ray) Wickens, beloved husband of Bea Wickens, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the age of 85 years.
Ray was born in Seattle, Washington on May 4, 1926 and grew up in Black Diamond, AB. Ray completed his BSc. in Geology at the University of Alberta in 1953. Ray married Bea Jarhouse on March 7, 1953 in Edmonton and, while raising four children, spent the next 33 years with Mobil Oil in many places across Canada, such as Drayton Valley, Swift Current, Edmonton, Halifax, Calgary, Ottawa and finally settling back in Calgary in 1982 and retiring in 1986.
Over the years, Ray always found a way to be active in the community in which he lived. He also had a love of golf, curling and bridge where some of his longest friendships were formed.
Ray is survived by his daughter Debbie Reinholdt (Howard); sons: Jim Wickens (Jo Ann), Bob Wickens (Avery Jubb) and Jeff Wickens (Susan Ricker); grandchildren: Jennifer Lentz (Craig), Kimberley White (Clint), Chelsey Wickens, Stephanie Wickens, Deena Collison, and Hilary Pegoraro (Tony); great-grandchildren Savanna and Sierra Collison, and Cameron White; sisters Darlene Lanouette (Ray), Carol Paszek (Henry), sister-in-law Eileen Wickens; brothers-in-law Verne Smith and Bob Boscher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years Bea, brother Larry and sister Myrna Boscher.
