Obituary of Thomas WALKER

Gordon passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Gordon was born in Regina, SK. He loved his profession as a math teacher which started in the 1970's in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Gordon relocated to Calgary to be with his parents in the mid 1980's and continued his career as a math teacher until 1996 when he retired. He had a passion for coin collecting and enjoyed spending time at the race track or Schanks sports bar to socialize and place a few bets. Gordon loved his pets Napoleon and Max very much. Gordon is survived by his sister Dona Hindley (Maurice) of Wynndel, BC; niece Karla Hindley of Calgary; nephews Randy Hindley (Kelly) of Creston, BC and Ryan Clark of Kelowna, BC; great-nieces Kaily Hindley (Howie) and Erin Hindley (Chris), all of Calgary; and great-nephew Jerrod Schultz of Lister, BC. Gordon was predeceased by his father Gerald (Torch) Walker, his mother Anne Walker and sister Karen Clark. A Memorial Service was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be forwarded to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (www.kidney.ca 11227 Jasper Ave., Suite 202, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L5)
