Obituary of James FINNEY

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jim passed away peacefully at the Colonel Belcher at the age of 86. He will be remembered as a loving husband to his wife Heather; a proud father to daughters Karen (Barry) and Krista (deceased); sons Jim and Bradley; and wonderful grandfather to Aislinn, Liam and Jamie. Born in Banbridge, County Down, N. Ireland, Jim proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW II. Jim was active in the Calgary business community for 50 years, most notably as the owner of Finney – Taylor Personnel for 26 years. Sports were his passion; he excelled in fastball, hockey, squash and golf to name a few. He will be missed. A Celebration of Jim’s Life was held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North), on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jim’s name can be made directly to the Vets’ Angels Program 145, 251 Midpark Blvd S.E., Calgary T2X 1S3 or a charity of your choosing. Special thanks go to the dedicated staff at the Colonel Belcher for going the extra mile to make Jim comfortable, and the volunteers with Vet’s Angels for brightening his days.
