Obituary of Mary DODDS

Mary Aurelia Oakley Dodds of Calgary of passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the age of 94 years. She was predeceased by her husband Adam Dodds in 1974. Mary is lovingly remembered by her children Peter Dodds (Leslie) and Peggy Huebner (Dave); grandchildren Jennifer, Christina, Rob, and Erin; and eight great-granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother John Morris and sister Ann Culey, of Nantwich, England. Born in Cardiff, Wales, Mary graduated with a BA in Languages prior to WWII, and worked with British Military Intelligence during the War. Mary was a dedicated volunteer with several groups for many years- including as a life member of the IODE, member of the original Colonel Belcher Hospital Auxiliary, charter member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #264, and the Army Navy and Air Force Veterans Association Unit #2. Family and friends were invited to a Celebration of Mary’s Life at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 – 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Seniors Resource Society (3639 – 26th Street NE, Calgary AB T1Y 5E1 (403) 266-6200).
