Obituary of Lillian Lang

Lillian passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Center on December 8, 2011 at the age of 91 years. Born in Empress, AB, Lillian grew up with her five sisters in Coleville, SK. She moved with her family to Rosetown, SK where she met her husband, Bill. Lillian enjoyed her life as a farmer’s wife until 1976 when they moved to Calgary. She was proud of her years as custodian at Chalmers Presbyterian Church, her prize-winning yard at Greenwood Village and her numerous prize-winning costumes at Aspen Lodge where she spent her last seven years as a much respected and loved resident and friend. Lillian will be remembered for her love of nature, her immaculate dress, her gracious hospitality, her strong spirit, dedication and spunk. She loved life and lived each day with faith, hope and love, sharing her motto: “Do a good deed for someone every day”. All Lillian’s dear friends and family, near and far, were inspired by her wisdom and faithfulness. Lillian’s memory will be forever cherished by her much loved daughter, Darlene Clarke, and her treasured grandchildren: Jay and Barbara Clarke, Jerrod and Lindsay Clarke, Kenneth Lang and Kassandra Lang. Great-Grandma will live on in the hearts of her precious great-grandchildren; Jordyn Clarke, Emersyn Clarke, and the twins Nolan and Avery Clarke. Lillian will be missed by her sister Myrtle Smith in Nova Scotia, brothers-in-law Albert York, in North Battleford, SK, and Russell (Faye) Lang in Abbotsford, BC, and their families. Lillian was pre-deceased by her husband William Lang; two sons, John and Allan Lang; daughter-in-law Sandra Lang; infant grandchildren Jeri-Lynn Clarke and Stanley Lang; four sisters: Mary, Violet, Phyllis and Verna (nee Wilson); brother Raymond, and her sweetheart Herbie Parks.
